E-boilers
Electric heat and steam production with a strong business case

Inopower E-boilers help district heating companies, utilities and energy-intensive industries replace fossil-based heat and steam with reliable electric capacity.
Built on proven high-voltage electrode boiler technology, our solutions are designed for real operating environments where uptime, flexibility and cost efficiency matter.
With Inopower E-boilers, customers can produce heat and steam when electricity prices, supply conditions or system needs make it attractive – helping lower costs, strengthen security of supply and support decarbonisation without making operations more complex.
Our two E-boiler types
Hot water boilers
For district heating companies, utilities and energy systems, hot water boilers provide reliable and flexible electric heat production.
Inopower’s high-voltage boilers can be integrated into existing heat production setups and used as part of a broader energy mix – producing heat when electricity is available, attractive or strategically important.
With fast response and high electric capacity, hot water boilers help customers lower heat production costs, strengthen security of supply and create value from flexibility.
Steam boilers
For energy-intensive industries such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, and automotive, steam boilers provide electric steam for production processes where uptime, stability and reliability are critical.
High-voltage boilers help replace fossil-based steam production with electric capacity, without adding unnecessary complexity to existing operations.
This makes steam boilers relevant for companies that want to decarbonise process heat, reduce exposure to fossil fuels and build a stronger business case for electrification.
Fast response through simple, proven functionality
An Inopower E-boiler is permanently connected to the electrical grid and always ready for operation.
At 0% load, the electrodes remain dry. This means the boiler consumes no electricity while still being ready to respond when heat or steam production is needed. Output is regulated by adjusting the water level around the electrodes, providing smooth load control from 0–100% and an exceptionally fast response time. This makes the E-boiler relevant for efficient heat and steam production as well as participation in Grid Balancing & Control Solutions.
Inside the boiler, an inner vessel contains the process water, while a pressurized outer vessel forms part of a closed water system. This helps ensure high water quality, stable operation and low maintenance over time.
In a standard installation, heated water circulates through a heat exchanger, where energy is transferred to the customer’s district heating or process heating system. Boiler pumps and secondary pumps ensure efficient circulation.

INOPOWER E-boilers are proven technology and solid business case
Clear interface. Easy integration.
The interface between the customer and Inopower is designed to be straightforward.
The customer provides the electrical grid connection, return water and the desired load setpoint. Inopower supplies heated water together with operational and supervision data.
This clear division of responsibilities helps simplify integration, reduce project complexity and support an efficient commissioning process.
Your benefits with Inopower boilers
ROI within 6–12 months
Most customers achieve a return on investment within 6–12 months. Installed as an add-on to existing heat production, the INOPOWER e-boiler quickly proves its financial value. Over time, many customers generate more than 30% of their total heat production from the e-boiler, driven by clear economic benefits and the elimination of local CO₂ emissions.
High reliability. Low maintenance.
Once installed, the Inopower e-boiler requires minimal attention, with only two annual service checks and very few wear parts. As a flexible add-on to existing plants, it strengthens operational reliability without replacing current production units – delivering stable, future-proof heat production with low complexity.
Simple day-to-day operation
The Inopower e-boiler is quiet, clean, and easy to operate. With no fuel deliveries, storage, or handling, daily operations become simpler and more efficient while maintaining stable heat production.
No local emissions
An Inopower e-boiler produces efficient heat with no local emissions. By electrifying heat production, companies can reduce their environmental footprint, improve the working environment, and support decarbonisation goals.
Takes up very little space
With a compact design of less than 3 meters in diameter, the e-boiler requires limited space and integrates easily into existing facilities. It also removes the need for fuel logistics, storage, handling systems, and related permits.
